Biohacking is the process of making well intentioned choices of lifestyle changes in order to feel better and obtain optimal health. Combinations of the right doses of exercise, foods and other technology and tools can have dramatic effects on health. Small things can produce large results. Technological advances in health care will ensure that we all live longer but individual lifestyle changes can make those longer years better years. Scientists have determined that the debilitating part of  aging is more like a disease than a normal process of getting older. In other words we don’t have to develop chronic diseases and lose the vitality of life as we age. You can have your genome sequenced for less than $1,000 and get the results in a day. A few years from now it will cost pocket change and be available on any of your electronic devices instantly. CRISPR which stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, is a method developed to do gene editing. If for example you have a genetic abnormality it will be soon possible to correct the problem with CRISPR. “In 2016 an advisory committee of the National Institutes of Health approved the technology as a cancer treatment; human trials to cure lung cancer are already underway in China. CRISPR/Cas9 is also being tested as a treatment for autism, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease and bipolar disorder. Scientists have also figured out how to remove HIV from human cells (so far only in a lab).” ( The Truth About Your future, Edelman, pg.55, 2017)
