If you want to be strong and healthy you have to train with some weights. Resistance training is part of the fountain of youth accompanied by diet and other movement. Lifting is critical to your long term health and you must come to terms with the barbell or at least some form of resistance training machine. You lose 5% of your lean muscle tissue each decade starting in your 30s. That means you are considerable weaker and more vulnerable to the hazards of life in your 50s and it get progressively worse. The good news is that you can overcome lean muscle loss with some form of resistance training. The bad news is that it will take some dedication and work on your part to get it done. Muscle mass is extremely important to your quality of life. There is a direct correlation between your health and the amount of muscle mass you have. The more muscle you build the faster your metabolism which makes losing weight easier. More muscle also reduces the risk of developing chronic illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease and reduces your chances of falling. So get off the couch and grab that dumbbell and build some muscle. Don’t fret ladies you will not build large bulging muscles , you don’t have the genetic makeup to do so but you can build lean tone muscle. It can be accomplished by the proper programming and consistent training. It doesn’t take a great deal of time a mere 15 20 minutes 3 times a week can accomplish a great deal with the right programing. In a short amount of time you will begin to build mind muscle connection and be able to feel your muscles work. Build some muscle and build some confidence along with it. You will feel better connected to your body and you will surprise yourself at how strong you can be.  Delay equals muscle loss so make a choice today that you will become a weight lover and develop the strong body you know you could have.
